“Kinaya Books & Publications” is set to release, in both print and digital formats simultaneously, the complete English translation of the historical documentary novel “Hmilcar” by Tunisian author Chaouki Lajnef (Originally published in Arabic by the same publisher).
The volume spans approximately 540 pages in medium format and features a cover designed by the author himself. The translation has been carried out, reviewed, and refined by a specialized editorial team at Kinaya publishing house.
Chaouki Lajnef introduces himself to the literary world with this debut work, offering a historically grounded narrative shaped by his extensive background in visual design, multimedia production, and digital filmmaking. Drawing on his deep understanding of visual composition and cinematic language, the author brings a distinctive sensibility to prose fiction, crafting a narrative that merges textual storytelling with a dynamic, image-driven imagination.

ستصدر قريبا عن منشورات “كناية”، وبعدة صيغ متزامنة، ورقية ورقمية، الترجمة الإنكليزية الكاملة للرواية التاريخية التسجيلية بعنوان “أميلكار” للكاتب التونسي شوقي الأجنف، بواقع 540 صفحة من القطع الوسط، مزدانة بغلاف من تصميم المؤلف نفسه، بينما قام بالترجمة وراجعها وضبطها فريق من خبراء الدار.
يقدّم شوقي الأجنف نفسه ككاتب تونسي يطرح أولى تجاربه الأدبية من خلال رواية تحمل طابعًا تاريخيًا تسجيليا. فبخبرة طويلة في مجال التصميم والإنتاج المرئي والاخراج السينمائي الرقمي، يحاول المؤلف الشاب أن ينقل لنا معرفته العميقة بخبايا الصورة ومكوناتها إلى عالم السرد الأدبي، ليقدم تجربة جديدة تمزج بين الكتابة والحركة بشكل متناغم.
روايته الأولى هذه، والتي سبق لدار كناية أن نشرت أصلها باللغة العربية في وقت سابق، هي ثمرة شغفه بالتاريخ وفهمه العميق للدراما البصرية، حيث يستعرض من خلالها حقبة مميزة من تاريخ قرطاج، مع إحياء شخصيات تاريخية بأبعاد إنسانية نابضة بالحياة.
